THE RETREAT: NAVY INSPECTORS ABRUPTLY ABANDON DEL BONO INVESTIGATION

A mysterious phone call “from above” interrupts federal operation mid-search; agents withdraw empty-handed while the “Iron Anchor” regains control.

BY ARTHUR P. GILLMAN

WASHINGTON D.C.– In a bizarre and inexplicable series of events that has stunned observers and enraged victims’ families, the federal siege of the Del Bono Naval Veterans Home ended just hours after it began.

The aggressive dawn raid, aimed at uncovering evidence of abuse and experimental treatments on veterans, dissolved into a hasty and organized retreat by noon. Navy medical inspectors and NCIS agents, who had forced open the facility’s steel gates just hours earlier with weapons drawn, were seen packing their equipment and leaving the area in convoy, leaving behind a mystery even deeper than what they had found upon arrival.

The Call That Stopped the Raid

According to several sources present at the perimeter, the operation was proceeding as planned until approximately 11:45. Agents had begun initial inspections of living quarters and had isolated Admiral Del Bono in his study.

The turning point came when the commander on site received an urgent communication via an encrypted field phone. Witnesses described the commander visibly stiffening while listening for nearly two minutes, offering only brief responses: “Yes, sir.”

Immediately after ending the call, the commander issued a “cease and desist” order to all personnel. The search was instantly halted. No documents were seized. No patients were taken for examination. Admiral Del Bono was released from temporary detention on site.

Official Silence and Conspiracy

The Pentagon has lowered an impenetrable curtain of silence over the incident. When pressed on why a federal search warrant, based on credible threats to life, was abandoned mid-execution, a Navy spokesperson offered only a statement chilling in its brevity: “Following further review of operational parameters, it was determined that the scope of the investigation required immediate adjustment. Federal resources withdrew pending further orders.”

Authorities refused to confirm who made the call that stopped the raid, or what power could instantly nullify an active NCIS crime scene.

The Fortress Closes Again

At 2:00 PM, the heavily reinforced gates of the Del Bono estate closed once more. Private security guards, disarmed hours earlier, were seen resuming their positions along the perimeter wall.

Admiral Del Bono was briefly glimpsed observing the federal retreat from a second-floor window, with an indecipherable expression.

The questions now hanging over Washington are far darker than before. What did the inspectors see in those few hours inside? And most importantly, who possesses the power to withdraw an entire federal task force with a single phone call? The Del Bono House remains a fortress, its secrets protected by an invisible and terrifying influence.

2. Narrative Analysis: Why Did the Pentagon Protect a “Disgraced” Admiral?

From a storytelling perspective, the December 3, 1992 document elevatesAs Duty Demandsfrom a story about a single rogue officer into something far more sinister:

  1. Was the Dishonorable Discharge a Cover Story?Only 21 days earlier, the Navy publicly severed ties with Del Bono over a deep-sea catastrophe. Yet the moment NCIS inspectors actually stepped inside the residential quarters of the Del Bono Naval Retirement Home, someone at the highest levels of the defense apparatus intervened over an encrypted field line to stop them from seizing documents or examining the patients.
  2. No Outside Help Is Coming for Coral:In many horror stories, players wonder why the protagonist doesn’t simply call the police or federal authorities. The Retreatanswers that question before the first monster even appears: the federal government already came with drawn weapons at dawn, looked inside the living quarters, received a two-minute phone call, and walked away.
  3. The Second-Floor Window:The image of Admiral Del Bono watching the convoy retreat from a second-floor window with an indecipherable expression establishes his total sovereignty over the estate. Once the steel gates closed again at 2:00 PM, the Del Bono Home ceased to be part of the outside world.
